He graduated magna cum laude from Harvard College in 1990. He subsequently graduated with his JD from Columbia Law School, where he was a regular contributor to the prestigious Columbia Law Review.

He shares three children with his wife Dalya. His younger brother Vinit is a successful entrepreneur.
